Chamber Celebrates Five Area Leaders at Annual Dinner

400 community members joined the Greater Belleville Chamber of Commerce Thursday night for their Annual Dinner and Silent Auction, presented by Breakthru Beverage, at the St. Clair County Event Center where the Chamber awarded five area leaders in the community. IMPACT Strategies and Grimm & Gorly Florist were awarded Business Excellence awards. Susan Wobbe (St. Clair County Office on Aging), Amy Richter (Hospice of Southern Illinois), and Kurt Schroeder (Greensfelder, Hemker & Gale, P.C.) were awarded individual awards. Susan Wobbe, recipient of the Ambassador of the Year award, served as Chair of the Greater Belleville Chamber of Commerce Ambassador Committee in 2018. She coordinated all the Ambassador luncheons and has volunteered for various Chamber events throughout the year including the Chili Cook-off. The Ambassador Club of the Greater Belleville Chamber of Commerce is very pleased to honor Jack Weck with the March 2018 Commitment to Community Award. Jack Weck has been a lifelong resident of Belleville and is a dedicated member of several organizations in our community. Jack completed 50 years of employment at the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate in Belleville with his last position as Donor Events Advisor. Jack retired in May of 2010 and has continued to help the Oblates in his retirement years. Jack Weck received the DeMazenod Award in February 1998 which is given to lay people who show exemplary service to the ministry of the Missionary Oblate Fathers. The Greater Belleville Chamber of Commerce awarded five area leaders in the community Thursday, February 1st at their Annual Dinner and Silent Auction held at the St. Clair County Event Center. Joy Prigge (Dieterich Bank), Debra Kruep (Hoernis Autobody), and Patty Gregory (Art on the Square) were awarded individual awards and Kaskaskia Engineering Group, LLC. and Egyptian Workspace Partners were awarded Business Excellence Awards. Prigge was awarded 2017 Ambassador of the Year, Kruep was named the 2017 Leadership Belleville Alumni Award and Gregory received the 2017 Citizen of the Year Award. The Chamber’s Commitment to Community Award is presented quarterly to a member who demonstrates a commitment to improving the quality of life for residents and/or businesses in the greater Belleville area. The Ambassadors were honored to present this quarter’s award St. Paul’s Senior Community on Thursday, September 7th, 2017. St. Paul’s Senior Community began its service to the community in 1926 and continues today as a not-for-profit, faith-based Life Plan Retirement Community for active seniors, offering a full spectrum of health services. The community is sponsored by The United Church of Christ and governed by a Board of Directors comprised of individuals from the congregation of St. Paul’s Church, Christ Church, Trinity Church, and the local community.
