Chamber Committees
The Chamber’s committees bring our members together and provide outreach to our community. As a member, working with a committee is a great way to network and meet people.
There is no obligation for a chamber member to serve on a committee – although, committee participation does give members the forum for input and action on issues impacting the business community while providing the opportunity for the member and/or employee to serve as an ambassador of their business.
Below you will find a list of our committees. Please contact the Chamber for more information about becoming involved with one or more of these committees.
Ambassador Club*
Membership in the Ambassador Club is by nomination and is ideal for individuals who enjoy outreach, relationship building, and a highly visible role within the business community. Ambassadors play a key part in fostering engagement and serving as the Chamber’s frontline advocates.
Belle-Scott Committee*
The committee’s mission is to foster strong, ongoing relationships between SAFB personnel and the Greater Belleville community. Belle?Scott members collaborate on initiatives that enhance quality of life for airmen and their families, promote mutual understanding, and ensure Belleville remains a welcoming and engaged partner to the base. This committee is ideal for those who value civic involvement, tradition, and direct support of the men and women who serve at Scott Air Force Base.
Belleville Main Street (BMS)
BMS plans, coordinates, and hosts a wide variety of signature events that draw residents and visitors downtown throughout the year. These include the Lucky Leprechaun 5K, Kids Day, Senior Days, Craft Beer Walk, Art & Wine Walk, Cookie Stroll, and several other seasonal programs and promotional activities designed to increase foot traffic and highlight local businesses.
The Belleville Main Street office, located at 227 East Main Street, serves as the hub for committee activity. The location hosts monthly committee meetings as well as weekly Executive Board meetings, providing consistent opportunities for collaboration and strategic planning. Although Belleville Main Street operates under the umbrella of the Chamber, it maintains its own bank account to support event operations, fundraising, and district-specific initiatives.
BMS is ideal for members who are committed to strengthening downtown Belleville, enhancing the business environment, and creating a vibrant, welcoming destination for the entire region.
Governmental Affairs Committee
New / Open for Membership
The committee works to ensure the Chamber has a strong and informed voice on matters affecting economic growth, workforce needs, business regulations, and community development. Members help identify priority issues, engage in dialogue with elected officials, and provide guidance on the Chamber’s advocacy positions.
A key responsibility of the committee is coordinating the Chamber’s quarterly Issues & Eggs events—public affairs programs that bring together business leaders, policymakers, and community stakeholders for timely discussions on important governmental and community topics.
Membership is open, making this a great opportunity for those who want to become more involved in shaping the region’s business climate and strengthening the connection between the private sector and public leadership.
Healthcare & Community Service Agencies Committee
Open to all members
The committee meets monthly on the second Thursday at 9:00 a.m. at the Chamber office. Meetings feature discussions on emerging healthcare topics, community challenges, resource sharing, and opportunities for partnership among providers, employers, and service organizations.
A signature initiative of the committee is hosting monthly community donation drives, supporting local nonprofits, shelters, and organizations that directly assist residents in need. Through these drives and ongoing conversations, the committee works to promote health education, increase access to resources, and strengthen community support networks.
The Healthcare Committee is ideal for members who want to build connections across the healthcare and business sectors, stay updated on regional health trends, and contribute to meaningful wellness?focused initiatives within the community.
