Mission Statement
Working for Our Members
he Greater Belleville Chamber of Commerce is a
membership organization that supports and advances
business and community interests, as well as the
quality of life in Belleville and surrounding
communities.
The mission of the Chamber is to identify and serve
the needs of businesses. That means working to
increase prosperity by encouraging growth of
existing businesses and fostering the establishment
of new ones. In addition, it translates to providing
representation in government affairs, and working
with educational, cultural, civic and service
organizations. In other words, the business of the
Chamber of Commerce is for its members to do
collectively what they might not be able to do
individually in working for the best interests of
the community.
Mission of Committees:
Board of Directors:
To ensure
the Chamber’s mission, establish the Chamber’s
policy development process, be responsible for
the adherence to it, be accountable for the
Chamber’s finances, and ensure competent
management to advance the organization’s current
and foreseeable agendas.
Ambassadors Club:
The Chamber Ambassador is an official
representative appointed by the Greater
Belleville Chamber of Commerce to promote good
will throughout the community, as well as
increase awareness about the programs, services,
and benefits of Chamber membership.
Committee meets the 1st Thursday of each month
at 11:30am - location varies.
Business Assistance Committee:
Plans educational workshops throughout the year
which focus on giving businesses tools for
success. Committee meets the 3rd
Tuesday of each month at 11:00am in the Chamber
Boardroom.
Community Services Agencies Committee:
Addresses the business aspects of the
not-for-profit agencies and provides a
networking opportunity monthly along with
informational feedback from other
not-for-profits in the area. Committee
meets the 2nd Thursday of each month at 9am in
the Chamber Boardroom.
Education Committee:
Addresses issues facing our educational system
(both public and private). Committee
meets on the 1st Tuesday each month at 8am in
the Chamber Boardroom.
Government Affairs Committee:
Addresses issues regarding county, state and
local business, in addition to presenting the
Issues & Eggs breakfast. Committee
meets the 3rd Thursday of each month at 7:30am
in the Chamber Boardroom.
Healthcare Committee:
Addresses healthcare issues facing our
community. Committee meets the 3rd
Thursday of each month at 9am in the Chamber
Boardroom.
Leadership Belleville Committee:
Directs and coordinates all aspects of the
Leadership Belleville Program. Committee
meets the 4th Wednesday of each month at 8am in
the Chamber Boardroom.
PR/Marketing Committee:
Coordinates the Chamber’s fundraising events,
including the Otto Golf Classic, Annual Dinner,
and Chili Cook-Off. Committee meets
the 2nd Monday of each month at Noon in the
Chamber Boardroom.
West Belleville Promotional Committee:
Spans all aspects of life in
West Belleville, from economic development to
promoting activities that gather people
together. Committee meets the 4th Friday of
each month at 8am at Lindenwood University in
Belleville.
